Concerto for Chamber Ensemble in 3 movements by Gregers Brinch started with a dream in Dec 1996 and later was completed as a concert for Viola and Chamber Ensemble dedicated to Rivka Golani. Alas although she was keen to perform this work, it never materialised as rehearsal time was not allowed for the piece to be prepared for performance. It has been fun to arrange it for this ensemble...the piecemakes a great deal of use of the pentatonic mode and the theme beginning the last movement is restricted to 4 notes of the pentatonic mode lending it a powerful but unrooted feel.
